Marketing has changed. There are ways to connect with your audience or market like never before. If your marketing has flatlined, or you’re just looking for some inspiration, check out these questions. Put some time into each one and think about how it applies to you or your business. Who knows? It might be all you need for your next big idea.

–How can I use something everyone uses in a way no one uses it yet?
–What would happen if we put half the advertising budget into something new?
–If I could describe my product/service/brand/self in 3 words what would they be?
–Is it better to be the first or be the best?
–If I could ask my customers/readers/market one question, what would it be?

Is it better to be the first or be the best?
Personally I think it is better to be best. First gets noticed – best gets remembered.
Who made the first MP3 player? I have no idea.
Who makes the best MP3 player? I think everybody in “Generation iPod” knows that answer. lol
Good post.

I agree being the best is more of rewarding the being the first. It also resonates with us bloggers. We always try to get the first post out about something new without getting the facts straight.
The good bloggers wait, get the real deal and then write and usually get on the front pages of most social bookmarking sites.
Have a look at my group writing project on my blog, good luck!

These set of questions are very helpful and can be used in many different marketing aspects. Like in the form of blogging.
The one that caught my attention the most is “Is it better to be the first or be the best?” this had made me pondering for a while and I think it depends on the market of your particular product. Of course, this would require a new set of research.
Thanks for your post.

–Is it better to be the first or be the best? That is a question that could be applied to more than just marketing! Nice thoughtful post and one that I will be taking notes on..def. worth further contemplation! Good luck with the top 5 group project!
These questions are not as simple as they seem–each one could lead to days of discussion. I like the idea of boiling down the product, etc., to three words. That’s a great way to turn a vague idea into a really powerful identity.
