Back in May when I wrote my first post on the 4 C’s of New Marketing, I honestly didn’t know how many other versions of the “4 C’s” there already were.
My 4 C’s are
Create – Make something remarkable.
Connect – Connect with your customers and your customers with each other.
Change – Always try and make it better.
Cancel – If it’s not working, cut it.
But there’s a couple different other lists that include:
Customer wants, Cost to satisfy, Convenience to buy, Communication
Customer value, Change, Convenience, Communication
Customer, Cost, Competition, Communication
And Even Armano’s 4 C’s of blogging
Community, Content, Consistency, Clarity
So the question is, which ones make sense?

At some point we had an alphabet going with the 4(insert letter) of blogging. I had the 4A’s
Testing and analyzing is key — it cannot be subjective (read from the inside) it needs to be outside in feedback loops. The hardest thing to do is learning how to quit — yet if you look at it, all successful people (and product lines, etc.) are so *because* choices where made through quitting (one of the base messages of The Dip by Seth Godin).
It’s hard to say which version of the 4 Cs is “best,” but I’m pleased that all of them include “Customers” and “Communications.” To me, those are the two most important things (and, I think your list includes them, too, even if you didn’t name them directly).
Hey Gang,
Thanks for the input. I know that marketers have a tendency to “package” things to make them easier to remember, sell, etc. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, but it is good to see that we’re starting to focus on the right things (at least in these lists).
