I knew something was up when that low budget, semi-confusing commercial for Octagon Global Recruiting ran during the last 15 minutes of the season finale of LOST. I’m a big fan and to me everything about it screamed Dharma Initiative. Apparently I wasn’t the only one, seeing as how the site was so bogged down it took me a solid 10 minutes to get there.
Sad thing is, once you hit the site the jig is somewhat up. No more mystery after that. Clearly ABC is shooting for some sort of viral initiative here, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Oh well, just like LOST, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

The dates in San Diego coincide with Comic-Con. I think it may be an entry into a sweepstakes to go there or something.
: ) P
Or perhaps they are just testing viewer engagement on commercials??
Thanks for posting! I totally missed this I guess there could be a downside to FF commercials with a PVR!~
@PJ
You may be right on there. Perhaps they’re launching a new spinoff or another video game or book or comic line? Seems ripe for a product launch to me.
@Kelly
It looks a little involved for just testing, maybe it’s a contest like PJ suggested or perhaps it’s a product launch or something similar. I wish they would have strung out the mystery a little longer. Either way, one benefit of not having a DVR.
Thanks for reading!
I think its funny that it states specifically “unpaid positions” in that infommercial… and in the world of Lost does one ever truly volunteers?
Real-world creeps in when you read up on the privacy policy at the bottom of the website… that legal mumbo jumbo is pretty lengthy too. LOL.
